North Dakota auto claims and remote estimating
Request estimating support in North Dakota
Request damage estimating, supplements or desk review for an assignment in North Dakota. We confirm scope, evidence, applicable eligibility and remote suitability before acceptance. Field attendance requires separate confirmation.
Review the actual cash value evidence
The North Dakota Insurance Department explains that actual cash value is the vehicle’s open-market value immediately before the loss, not its purchase price or loan balance. It identifies local comparable vehicles, local dealer quotations and local-market pricing services as valuation sources. Check whether the vehicle’s condition, equipment and local market are accurately reflected.
Keep salvage reporting separate from claim valuation
The department explains that damage exceeding 75% of retail value triggers reporting and salvage-title consequences. That title rule should not be presented as a promise that an insurer must fund repairs below that percentage. If you retain a totaled vehicle, the settlement can reflect both an applicable deductible and salvage value. A repair shop discovering omitted covered damage should contact the adjuster about a supplement.
Choose the service and evidence for your asset
Send unit identification, current location, damage photographs and the requested scope. Supplements need the baseline estimate and evidence for added operations; desk review needs specific questions.
Heavy trucks, trailers, agricultural or construction equipment, ATVs, boats and aircraft require asset-specific scope and fee confirmation. Auto rules do not automatically govern these assets. Estimating is not a safety, seaworthiness or airworthiness certification.
Estimating, policy appraisal and property valuation are distinct
A damage estimate does not appoint an appraisal-clause appraiser, umpire or adjuster. These roles have separate requirements. We do not decide coverage or guarantee payment.
Home and mortgage valuations require separate credentials, lender ordering and any applicable appraisal-management compliance. This page does not confirm an available real estate provider network.
