Find the right estimating service for your location
California United Appraisals accepts photo-based estimating inquiries from all 50 states. For Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties, you can also request a local field inspection. We review the location, documentation and assignment requirements before confirming the work.
Southern California field-inspection requests
Choose the county where the vehicle or equipment is currently located, even if the loss occurred somewhere else. Include the repair facility or location contact, access requirements and any proposed appointment window. Field visits are arranged by appointment, subject to availability and suitability.
Los Angeles County: vehicle and repair-shop assignments, including the San Fernando Valley, Pasadena and Santa Clarita areas.
Orange County: initial estimates, supplement requests and location-confirmed inspection inquiries.
Ventura County: vehicle and equipment requests with the unit type, location and access contact identified.
Nationwide remote estimating
A body shop, insurer or authorized vehicle owner can request photo-based estimating from any U.S. state. Remote work begins with the documents and photographs available, rather than an assumption that an inspector will travel to the location.
Select the service needed: initial damage estimate, supplement or review of an existing estimate. Provide the vehicle’s current state and the loss location if different, identify who is requesting the work and explain any assignment instructions.
Some damage cannot be established from photographs. Additional images, measurements, repair documentation or an in-person inspection may be required. We confirm whether the requested remote work can be accepted; listing a state does not establish a local office or statewide field network.
Before you send documents
Keep each vehicle or equipment unit identifiable. Include its year, make and model or relevant equipment details, the current estimate when one exists, a short explanation of the requested work and your file reference. Avoid mixing unrelated claims into one upload.
Use the photo checklist if you are unsure which views to provide. Do not disassemble equipment, enter an unsafe area or operate an unsafe vehicle to obtain photographs.
How pricing works
Standard initial estimates for regular auto and truck claims are $200. A supplement on a standard assignment is an additional $75. Estimates for 18-wheelers, tractors and trailers are $450. These published rates are for shops and individual third-party requesters; insurance-company contract rates are negotiated. Other specialty scope and any inspection arrangements are confirmed before work starts.
Send an assignment request
Use Submit Assignment and include the current city and state. The form accepts an optional image or document upload; for questions about a larger file set or an existing file, email claims@cu-appraisals.com. Acceptance, the service method and any additional information needed are confirmed separately.

Questions before you submit
Can I send a request from the East Coast?
Yes. Nationwide photo-based estimating inquiries are accepted for review. Include the state and the available evidence so we can confirm whether remote preparation is suitable.
Does the state list mean there is an inspector in every state?
No. The nationwide option is remote estimating. Field inspection availability is confirmed for the specific location and assignment.
What if the vehicle has moved to another shop?
Provide its current location and the new access contact. If an inspection request is already being discussed, let us know before an appointment is arranged.
