From assignment request to a documented estimate
A clear assignment starts with the service you need and the information already available. Our process is designed to separate new estimates from supplements, establish who is requesting the work and identify missing documentation before preparation.
1. Start with an assignment inquiry
Choose the requested service and provide the vehicle or equipment type, current location and your contact information. Include the existing reference number if the request relates to a previous file. A supplement should be identified as such rather than submitted as a new, unrelated estimate.
2. Confirm scope and the service method
We review whether the request is suitable for photo-based preparation, a desk review or a field inspection. The agreed scope, pricing and any appointment arrangements need to be clear before work begins. Submitting a request alone does not book an inspection or establish a completion deadline.
3. Provide the supporting documentation
After the scope discussion, confirm how to provide the relevant photographs, existing estimate and supporting repair information. The assignment request form includes an optional image/document upload. For large or sensitive files, ask claims@cu-appraisals.com for appropriate instructions. Do not send unrelated private records. If key information is missing or damage cannot be established from the evidence, further documentation or an inspection may be needed.
4. Review the completed work
The assignment determines the estimate or report to be delivered. Review identifying information and contact us about a factual correction or a question about the agreed scope. If new damage is documented later, it may require a separate supplement rather than an informal change to the original file.
Know what the estimate establishes
An estimate documents the work within its stated scope. It does not establish insurance coverage, authorize repairs or guarantee payment by an insurer or another party.
Common questions
When will the estimate be ready?
Timing depends on scope, documentation, access and current availability. Tell us about your requested deadline; a completion expectation must be confirmed for the assignment.
