Damage estimates for 18-wheelers, tractors and trailers
A heavy-truck file needs more than a few close-up photographs. The vehicle configuration, damaged components and supporting repair information all matter. California United Appraisals accepts 18-wheeler, tractor and trailer estimating requests for assignment review.
Start with a brief inquiry describing the work you need and the documents already available. We will confirm the assignment scope and how to provide supporting material before work begins.
Identify the equipment and the requested work
Tell us whether the assignment concerns a tractor, trailer or another heavy vehicle, and identify each unit involved. Include the manufacturer, model, year and identifying numbers available. Explain whether you need an initial estimate, review of an existing file or additional estimating work.
We review the information to determine whether the assignment can proceed remotely or needs further documentation or inspection. Receiving a request does not confirm that every vehicle type or damage condition can be handled from photographs.
Build a useful damage record
Wide views should show the affected area in relation to the vehicle. Detailed views should identify the individual components and damage. Supporting shop information can help clarify repair access, measurements and proposed operations.
Overall unit views and equipment identification.
Component-level photographs with enough context to locate the damage.
Existing estimates, repair proposals and available parts information.
Measurements, diagnostic findings or teardown records supplied by the repair facility, where relevant.
Pricing and assignment acceptance
The standard rate is $450 per estimate for 18-wheelers, tractors and trailers. Insurance-company contract rates are negotiated separately.
Any additional work outside the accepted estimate scope is discussed before proceeding. The $75 supplement charge stated for regular auto and truck assignments should not be assumed to apply to heavy or specialty assignments.
Common questions
Does the estimate determine whether a truck is safe to operate?
No. A damage estimate is not a roadworthiness or operational safety certification. Refer safety and operating questions to the appropriate qualified repair or inspection professional.
Can several damaged units be submitted together?
Yes, describe the units in your inquiry and keep each unit’s identification and damage records separate. The assignment scope and applicable estimate charges are confirmed for the requested work.
