Damage estimates for cars, SUVs and light trucks

Get a written repair estimate based on the vehicle, the damage and the documentation available. California United Appraisals works with body shops, vehicle owners and insurance clients on passenger-vehicle damage assignments, including initial estimates and supplements.

Start with a brief inquiry describing the work you need and the documents already available. We will confirm the assignment scope and how to provide supporting material before work begins.

Choose the right starting point

For an initial estimate, prepare the vehicle information and clear damage photographs. If an estimate already exists, identify whether you need a review or a supplement for additional documented repairs. Start with an inquiry so the assignment scope and document-delivery method can be confirmed before work begins.

Photo-based estimating requests can be considered nationwide. Some damage cannot be evaluated adequately from photographs. Additional views, measurements, repair-facility documentation or an in-person inspection may be needed.

Prepare the vehicle file

A complete starting file helps us understand what is visible and what still needs to be documented. Do not dismantle or move an unsafe vehicle just to obtain a photograph.

  • Year, make, model, VIN and current vehicle location.

  • Overall photographs, close-up damage views and any existing estimate.

  • Relevant shop findings, measurements and invoices, when available.

  • Your contact details, role in the assignment and claim or reference number.

Standard estimating rates

For body shops and individuals, regular auto and truck estimates are $200. If a supplement is required for a standard assignment, the additional charge is $75. Insurance-company contract rates are negotiated separately.

An estimate documents the repair scope supported by the available information. It does not authorize repairs, establish insurance coverage or guarantee a payment amount.

Common questions

Can you inspect the vehicle at a body shop or home?

Ask about an inspection at the vehicle’s current location. Availability, safe access and the appropriate service method are confirmed individually before an appointment is arranged.

What if more damage is found later?

Contact us with the existing reference number and a brief description of the newly documented damage. We will confirm the supporting documents needed for a supplement review and how to provide them.
